Talent Show

November 27th, 2009 at 02:19 am

I will be singing in the talent show at work on Dec 9. I think that is why they are keeping me at work ..... cheap talent Smile
I have a new boss now, who is in the U.S. Life promises to be interesting with virtual reporting.
Meanwhile I have decided to keep going with selling Avon. It is fun and I hope to gradually increase the number of customers.
BA, in case you are reading this, one of the top ten Avon sales people in my district is a man. Just a thought Smile
Thanks for the support and prayers, everyone.

Wait, so... you're not in the US? If not, what country are you in? Just curious.

And... forgive if I am being rude, but is the man gay? I've never heard of an Avon sales rep being a man, let alone being a top sales people.

Not that there's anything wrong with any of this. It's just the entry raised a lot of questions. Big Grin

And no, I am most definitely not capable of selling Avon. Thanks for keeping me in mind though. Big Grin

Smile I'm in Canada, eh. I've never met him, so I don't know his orientation. I hadn't thought of that.
I didn't think you'd like the idea. I just thought I'd throw it your way Smile

BA, I don't know if that query (about the Avon guy's orientation) even needs to be asked... although it did lead me to consider the following: Either we have a straight guy with an INCREDIBLE sense of humor who is unshakably comfortable with his masculinity, or he's gay... (and a heck of a salesman, to boot). In his case, it probably beats selling insurance or working on an assembly line! Hey, there are female fighter pilots now, why can't there be an Avon Gentleman?

Good luck with your talent show and your Avon sales. I say you should go for it and knock 'him' out of the top ten!

Jerry, you're right. I was being rather nosy with such a question.

I suppose I am just wondering what it takes for a man to be a top Avon seller. Please understand that the typical guys I know would have been repulsed just by the very thought of even selling cosmetic products. Even if they are not, it would still require a reasonable knowledge base regarding make-ups; something that most guys I know has zero interest in.

To be clear, I've also had several gay friends in the past. A couple of them are also the leaders of the local gay activist group in my city. So, to me, to ask if someone is gay is no more condescending than to ask if someone is into video games or a fighter pilot or being Canadian. Big Grin I don't think gays are some kind of social pariah or anything. Quite the opposite in fact, they were some of the most understanding people I know.

As for Canada, thanks for clearing that part up. Big Grin
