Stop buying the bad stuff

May 14th, 2009 at 05:01 pm

Cutting out the bad stuff will be really hard unless DH is on board. If he buys it, I eat it ... cheesies & ice cream.
He says he has noticed that I am eating healthier, but I know that if the bad stuff is around, my willpower is nil.

I'm not blaming him, but the change needs to be a team effort.

It will do him good too as he has a spare tire, which I don't think comes from eating too many apples and bananas.

Good luck. I am a cookie monster, so I try to not buy sweets for my house. I lose the will if I am out somewhere and I'm offered something sweet. I wish they made a magic pill to cut out my sweet cravings!

I know what you mean. The one saving grace when DH buys treats is that I try not to get to them right away. I let him scarf them up.

My hubby also has a spare tire, so I gradually phased out buying any cookies, candies, cake, or ice cream. I can't eat ice cream anyway, because I am allergic, and we are both hypoglycemic, so we are not supposed to eat anything with sugar. As far as treats go now, I buy hubby beef jerky and I buy a lot of fresh fruit and veggies. He still has the spare tire, but he does have more energy and fewer other health problems.
